The Day After Christmas.

Christmas came and went in a blur.
via Pinterest
It all happened so fast and part of it did not even feel like Christmas
with the 50 degree weather.
Normally, we have a white Christmas here in Louisville.
Santa did good this year and I received so many owl gifts.
I guess a Chi Omega can never have too many owls.
Today, mother and I went shopping to check out the sales and braced ourselves for the mall.
It was not near as crowded as we expected.
I grabbed some goodies.
I will post later on some of my favorites from Christmas since boyfriend is not coming until Wednesday.
If I were you, I would take full advantage of those great after-Christmas sales!

Lyrics.

For anyone that reads this blog, you know that I really enjoyed reading the Hunger Games trilogy.
It was amazing.
The adventure, friendship and just the plot was well written.
It captivated me the entire time- I could not put it down.
Well, as many of you may know- the movie is in the works.
Taylor Swift just recorded a song for the soundtrack with the Civil Wars.
The Civil Wars are incredible- I saw them at Samford when I went there.
Here's the song for those that are interested:
It has a dark tone to it, but I could not stop listening.
Enjoy!

More Gap Finds.

I ran into Gap today to find my mother's Christmas gift.
Well, they were having a 40% off already marked sale items
plus another 15% off with your Gap card.
Yes please.
I purchased these two items:

Obviously I like my metallics.
Go check out the fab. sales for yourself...and family and friends.

Colors of the Rainbow.

This weekend I have been Christmas shopping like crazy.
While doing so, I have also picked up a few things for myself.
I know, not really supposed to do that- I can't help it sometimes!
In Ulta, this nail polish caught my eye- it's perfect for the holidays
especially New Year's!

OPI Rainbow Connections part of the Muppet Collection...
Yeah, Muppets. Oh well it's cute.
Run and grab this you all. You will not regret it.
So festive!

My Life Lately via Instagram

The title explains this post.
I have been MIA for a while now and I am ready to start posting frequently
especially since I will be home for almost two months!
Here are some recent snapshots:
My cousin's precious puppy over Thanksgiving
During the stressful finals week, I baked some crescent rolls filled with cinnamon and chocolate
One thing about being home is amazing coffee at the Anchorage Cafe.
Anchorage Trail- try it.
A sleepover and visit to one of my best friend's houses from college.
Hot chocolate was a highlight.
My boyfriend and me at his fraternity formal.
New sparkles.

Christmas Shopping.

Lately, my days have been filled with working at a local boutique,
buying goodies for my family/friends and baking various treats.
When shopping, sometimes I can't help browsing for myself.
While in Gap with Heather, I spotted this sweater and had to buy it.
It was almost half off and adorable.

Crash and Burn.

Please do not hate me for being MIA lately.
My hard drive crashed and living in a small town like Jackson.
There's no Apple store right around the corner.
Luckily, I was going to my boyfriend's fraternity formal in Nashville that weekend
so we had to make an unexpected visit to the Apple store for some fixing.
Needless to say, I love having my Macbook back but I lost everything...e-v-er-ythin-gggg.
I now have an external hard drive to prevent this from happening again.
PTL for Apple Care!
I just finished my finals and I earned a 4.0 this semester.
That's right.
I worked hard and kept my sanity by eating these:

Boyfriend knows what I like.
Anyways, I am just glad to be home, in my own bed and catching up on my shows:

Revenge is amazing.
Go. Watch. Enjoy.

Country Crooners.

I adore country music.
Something about it just makes me want to roll the windows down in my car
and jam.
Miranda Lambert recently joined the band 'Pistol Annies'
I am loving this song:

"The first time I felt it I was only 16
And he kissed me underneath the chinaberry tree
Said "Goodnight darlin," with a sweet Southern drawl
Man, I think I might just have to love them all -
The boys from the South"

Morgan.

For a digital photography assignment, we were asked to shoot 'fashion'.
Thank goodness.
I dragged Morgs into the studio with two outfits and had at it.
Here's some of my favorites:
p.s. isn't she beautiful?

Slacker.

Okay, I have seriously been slacking on the blog updates...
but not in school!
This week was insane with three tests and several functions to attend.
Here's a recap of what has been going on in my life:

Been to several dress-up parties (Mallard Ball, Halloween Part, and Rho Beta America)
Looking classy as ever ^^
P.S. For Halloween Morgs was a Blind Mouse and I was "Toddlers and Tiaras"...naturally.

Taken some pictures for my digital photography class.
(Isn't my friend Morgan a stunner?!)

Attended Fashion Night Out at a boutique here in Jackson.
So.Much.Fun.
It's been a great week and I hope you all had a wonderful one as well.
I promise to post more.

New Finds.

This past weekend I went home for fall break.
There's a lot of great things about home- but one that I really enjoy is Sephora.
That may seem weird, but we don't have a Sephora here in Jackson
and I love playing with different make up-- switching things up a bit.
Well, I popped in there to purchase some more of my tinted moisturizer and
there was a girl who travels the country as a rep. who happened to be doing make overs.
Heck yes.
She completely redid most my make up and I have to say I loved how natural it looked.
Sooo... of course I bought most of what she told me to.
Here are the winners:
all images via Google
This stuff is the bomb.com. I mix it up with my tinted moisturizer for a dewy look.

I have been using Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer but this stuff works better.
It looks less cakey.

Best. Concealer. Ever. Mix it with the primer for some serious coverage.

Great shade, intense competition with NARS Orgasm blush.
Whoa, so much better than NARS Laguna bronzer. This stuff is not fake-tan at all.
Love this gloss- it completes the look.
Makes your skin feel like silk.
I am obsessed with my drugstore mascara but this gives it a run for its money.
Did you all know that Benefit is a Louis Vuitton company?
Me neither.
But it is- it's 'luxury at a reasonable price'
And nothing is above $40.
That's a great deal.

Outerwear

I'm so excited to share this with you all.
I have very, very exciting news.
My favorite online store, Hallelu, is having a 50% off everything sale.
You read that right.
Not only do they have amazing clothes, the prices will be cheappppp.
I purchased this jacket that I've been lusting over for a few weeks.

Covered

This weekend was much needed.
Full of friends, food, Fall Festival.
What more could a girl want?
The Fall Festival included a cornmaze, haunted hayride, s'mores and a bonfire.
It was complete, fall-obsessed bliss.
On another note, I forgot to share what case I picked up for my phone.
via JCrew
Randomly, there was one at my JCrew at home (I thought they were all sold out)
So I picked up this baby.
Obsessed.

TGIF

Here's to the longest week ever.
pinterest
I've been living on Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
Starbucks- I've seen you too much this week.
My debit card is tired of 5 dollar coffee.
I'm looking forward to this weekend in Jackson.
It's Open Mic at the coffee house on campus tonight which always provides some entertainment
and tomorrow night is the Fall Festival.
Thank Goodness.
I get to go on a haunted hayride, go through a corn maze, chill at the bonfire and eat s'mores.
Sounds like fall to me.
Cheers to that.

30% Off.

Old Navy, Banana Republic and The Gap are having an online only 30% off sale.
I'm almost positive it ends tonight.
Hurry and grab some cute items before it ends!
Here's what I purchased:
Finally, I have been dying for a pair of desert boots!
Crossing my fingers they fit.
both via Old Navy
I don't know why, but I adore this purse.
I saw it in person and it doesn't look cheap at all.
I need a good brown purse for the fall/winter so this is perfect!

Pumpkin.

With fall in full swing, I am indulging in my favorite flavor- pumpkin.
There's just something about pumpkin anything during this time of the year.
For a recent Chi Omega cook-out, I made simple chocolate chip pumpkin cupcakes.
I'm not going to lie- they were delicious.
But the best part was how simple they were to make.
All you need is:
1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
1 Can of pumpkin
1 Bag of chocolate chips
and if you want the icing
1 can of cream cheese frosting.
That is my kind of recipe.
This weekend was crazy due to the fact that it was Family Weekend.
Yesterday, I had to take pictures for my digital photography class.
Here is one of the snapshots of my beautiful friend Chelsie.

Coffee Crazy.

Today is National Coffee Day.
First, I did not even know this existed.
Second, I have celebrated hard today.
Pumpkin Spice coffee all around.
Three cups isn't an addiction- right?
Anyways, I am happy to know that there is a day that lets us addicts have an excuse
to drink more coffee.
Here are my favorite drink orders just depending on my mood:

-the regular-
nonfat mocha, no whip (iced or hot depending on weather)

-the fall obsession-
nonfat pumpkin spice latte, no whip (always hot)

-the vacation-
nonfat mocha, no whip, two pumps coconut

-the cheapo-
nonfat misto, 2 sugar in the raw packets

-the skinny-
soy skinny vanilla latte, no whip, iced

-love always-
nonfat mocha, two pumps raspberry, whip (hot)

What are your drink choices?

Case of the Mondays.

It's Monday and that means everyone around me is walking sleepily to class and sipping on several cups of coffee.
(I'm only on my first- pumpkin spice may I add)
It's a chilly day here in Jackson and I can't say I hate it.
I'm ready to pull out my boots and sweaters and cheetah print jeans... What?
I saw this idea on Pinterest.com and fell in love.
I've already printed out the notes I am going to put in my mine and am obsessed.
You all have to do this for someone you care about to know that they're on your mind.
